Clinical Nutrition: Service Activities

Two departments jointly administer the general internship/master's degree program. The Department of Food and Nutrition Services at Rush University Medical Center provides the internship or supervised practice experience. The didactic component of the Master of Science degree is provided by the Department of Clinical Nutrition in Rush University. The practitioner-teacher model is evident in the fully integrated operational and academic facilities/staff, providing unique opportunities for the merging of theory and practice within one institution. In addition to the academic program, the Department of Food and Nutrition Services provides nutrition services to the hospital and to the outpatient area, operates three food service units within the Medical Center, and provides leadership in nutrition support in critical care.
